Every 8 Minutes or Less
Every 8 Minutes or Less is a collection of photographs taken while riding city buses throughout Boston and its surrounding towns. These bus routes are unique because they pass through multiple neighborhoods and give riders a window into the ever changing landscape of the city. Due to its older subway system, which forces riders to go all the way downtown if they need to transfer lines, the buses provide people who live in the immediate suburbs a way to travel between towns without having to pass through downtown Boston. The 66 bus, for example, connects elitist Harvard square with one of the poorer neighborhoods in the city, Dudley square, while passing through the grungy neighborhood of Allston and affluent town Brookline along the journey. While editing the images the I discovered I was subconsciously interested in pairs and groupings of people, and how we carry ourselves in public spaces.
